A Hot Air Oven is a laboratory instrument that uses dry heat to sterilize laboratory equipment and materials. Also known as a forced air circulating oven, it is widely used to sterilize glassware (such as petri dishes, flasks, pipettes, and test tubes), powders (like starch, zinc oxide, and sulfadiazine), metal equipment (such as scalpels, scissors, and blades), and other materials that can withstand high temperatures. However, items like surgical dressings, rubber, or plastic materials cannot be sterilized in a hot air oven.
To destroy microorganisms and bacterial spores, the hot air oven operates at extremely high temperatures for several hours. Due to its simple standard operating procedure, reliability, and cost-effectiveness, it is extensively used in medical, pharmaceutical, and research laboratories. The system also enables quick and efficient drying of samples and materials.
The temperature range of a typical hot air oven is 50°C to 200°C, precisely controlled using a PID temperature regulator. Heat is absorbed by the surface of the materials and gradually penetrates to the core, ensuring uniform sterilization throughout.
In addition, the incubator mode provides a controlled and insulated environment for the growth of microorganisms, maintaining the optimum temperature and uniform airflow for consistent results.
Pelilab Scientific Private Limited is one of the best Hot Air Oven Cum Incubator Manufacturers in Chennai, offering advanced, durable, and energy-efficient models designed for precise sterilization and incubation in modern laboratories.
Wamerplus is a rapid convection heating chamber with controls for precise control of temperature and airflow. The main advantage of wamerplus is it can be used either as a incubator upto 200°C or as a incubator for temperature at 37°C. The mode of selection of oven or incubator can be chosen from the touch panel. The control system is placed on the top of the heating chamber, so that they are not exposed to any spillage of liquids. The control system incorporates a touch interface and a precise PID temperature controller. All other electronic components are housed in the control panel. Wamerplus is supplied with two trays which can be placed inside the oven as per the convenience of the user at different positions in the slots provided in the walls of the chamber which can be adjusted at seven different levels. Another unique feature of wamerplus is auto temperature reduction during cooling cycle using a motorised vent valve which eliminate hot air from the chamber.
Wamerplus are constructed with inner Stainless steel chamber with round corners for easy cleaning. The system is properly insulated with ceramic wool to provide good stability of temperature inside the chamber and to avoid transfer of heat to the outer chamber. Wamerplus comes with three options based on the automation like LED seven segment PID controller, simple touch screen controller and higher end Touch controller with PC connectivity and data logging.
